At Gelso e Pellizzaro has recently renewed its cutting line by introducing a new tube laser. This machinery allows laser cutting and drilling processes to be carried out on various shaped iron, steel, stainless steel and aluminium tubes, with diameters ranging from 12 to 152 mm.

Gelso e Pellizzaro has recently renewed its cutting line by introducing a new tube laser. This machinery allows laser cutting and drilling processes to be carried out on various shaped iron, steel, stainless steel and aluminium tubes, with diameters ranging from 12 to 152 mm.

Cutting and brushing

Thanks to the automated cutting line, different tube sizes are processed up to a maximum length of 6.5 metres with diameters from 14 to 50 mm. Tube brushing on the ends takes place to prevent the creation of any sharp edges. With state-of-the-art machinery, the tubes are also blown internally to leave no residual swarf, so the processed part remains intact and the bending matrices or the moulds for the subsequent processes are not damaged.

Bending is performed with various tube bending machines: from linear right or left-handed to the multi-radius left or right-handed with dual head calandering. Thanks to our machine park, round tubes from 12 to 42 mm and squares and rectangles can be bent.

  • Various tube benders: semi-automated and manual, right or left handed and dual head.

Welding

Different types of welding are performed in order to be able to meet multiple demands and achieve specific finishes with the highest quality. Gelso e Pellizzaro’s machine park has several stations for expert welders to perform manual MIG and TIG welding, as well as braze welding. Four systems with double swivel table are used for robotised MIG welding. In recent years, Gelso e Pellizzaro has invested in the purchase of an orbital robotised system with dual lathe to perform MIG and TIG welding with and without backfill.

Hydraulic boring

The machine park has a dedicated area for the hydraulic boring of already bent and welded pieces. The machine is managed by a unit with EEC guaranteed control panel, with which it is possible to create various programs to perform multiple process in one work cycle.

Stamping, shearing,
bending and cleaning

Every process is performed in the well-equipped machine park of Gelso e Pellizzaro. Presses able to stamp from 12 to 100 tons are used to stamp iron and aluminium; for shearing and bending sheet metal, a CN bending press and a CN Schiavi/Amada shearing machine that process metal sheet up to a maximum thickness of 6 mm are used. Gelso e Pellizzaro also provide a metal cleaning and polishing service to ensure an appropriate finish on any type of product to guarantee its high quality.

Assembly, packaging and delivery

The assembly and riveting of sheared and bored pieces are processes that the company has performed for years for both chairs produced by Gelso e Pellizzaro and products of customers. The more than 2000 sqm warehouse is used for assembly, packaging and storage of chairs and other products: this enables punctual deliveries and constant meticulous monitoring of the products after chroming and coating.
